    • It's huge, so there won't be any chance you'll mistake it for a Seabass?
  • Coelacanth: This giant living fossil only comes out in the rain and from the late afternoon to the early morning hours.
    • See a small one but you're looking for Red Snappers? Run past the fish, exit the screen and come back. This can actually help you as well when you're looking for larger fish. Remember: Don't run when you're near a fish or it will take off. Fish won't bite unless the lure is directly in front of their nose, so use the water's natural current to get the lure as close as possible.

    There are no controls beyond hitting A at the right time (you don't have to wiggle the stick or hold down the button) - but having the rumble on with a regular controller can help. If you press too early or too late, the fish will dive and disappear. Hit your button at the right moment (just when the "swimmer" submerges) and you've got it.

    Look for a fish silhouette, slowly position yourself close to it, cast your lure so that it's right in front of the fish, then wait till it bites. The actual fishing mechanics are very simple. Catching fish is one of the best ways to make money in Animal Crossing, but it's also part of the overall quest to catch each one of the 40 types of fish in the game (and donate them to the museum).
